Meet Mary-Keith Piasecki
My Story
I’m Mary-Keith (but you can call me Mary), a birth doula, wife, mom of three, and someone who genuinely loves being in the birth room.
My own three births looked completely different from one another, and those experiences are a big part of why I became a doula. My first was a planned home birth that ended in a cesarean. My second was another planned home birth—a VBAC—followed by an ambulance transfer to the hospital after a postpartum hemorrhage. With my third, I chose a planned hospital induction with an epidural.
I’ve experienced firsthand what it’s like to have a birth plan change completely, to make decisions I didn’t expect to make, and to choose a very different kind of birth the next time around. I know how much it matters to have someone beside you who can stay calm, remind you of your options, and help you feel supported when birth takes an unexpected turn.
Since becoming a doula in 2018, I’ve had the privilege of supporting more than 140 families through all kinds of births—home births, hospital births, inductions, VBACs, epidurals, unmedicated births, and plenty of births that looked nothing like the original plan.
I’m not there to tell you how to give birth. I’m there to get to know you, help you prepare, and be a steady, knowledgeable presence when it’s time to meet your baby.

Outside of birth work, I’m a wife, mom of three, homeschool mom, pastor’s wife, and runner.
My husband and I have been married since 2013, and together we help lead the Young Adult Ministry at our church. Faith, family, and community are a huge part of our lives.
I love having people in our home, playing board games, writing, spending time with friends, and running—which has become one of my favorite ways to challenge myself, clear my head, and make time for something that’s just mine.
Most days are full, a little chaotic, and very normal.
That part of my life shapes the way I show up as a doula too. I know what it’s like to carry a lot, love your family deeply, and want to feel cared for in the middle of it all.
My Birth Philosophy
Birth does not always go according to plan. That does not mean you cannot still have a birth where you feel supported, informed, and involved in what is happening.
My approach is simple: prepare well, stay flexible, and respond to what your body and baby need in the moment.
Sometimes that means movement, position changes, and hands-on support. Sometimes it means rest, an epidural, or changing the plan completely. I do not believe there is one right way to give birth, and I will never measure the success of your birth by whether it looked a certain way.
My job is to help you understand your options, ask good questions, and feel confident making decisions as things unfold. I work alongside your partner and care team, not against them, so you feel supported physically, emotionally, and practically throughout labor.
You do not need a perfect birth plan. You need a support person who can stay steady when the plan changes.
Rather than relying on a single certification or approach, I’ve pursued education across multiple areas of birth and postpartum support. My training includes Madriella, Stillbirthday, Spinning Babies Level 1 & 2, Bundle Birth, The VBAC Link, and Evidence Based Birth®, with additional training in postpartum support and birth and bereavement care.
Together, these programs have strengthened my knowledge of physiologic labor, fetal positioning, pregnancy loss, VBAC and cesarean birth, hospital procedures, comfort techniques, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and evidence-based decision-making.
I continue to study labor positioning, induction, epidural support, postpartum care, and ways to adapt when birth or recovery takes an unexpected turn. This ongoing education allows me to provide informed, practical support while respecting each family’s preferences and remaining within the nonmedical scope of a doula.
