Why I Got VBAC Certified (Even After Having Two of My Own)

As a doula, I believe one of the most powerful things I can offer is continual growth. Birth is dynamic—no two experiences are the same, and no family walks the exact same road. That’s why I’ve made it a priority to keep learning, stretching, and equipping myself to better serve the women who invite me into their birth stories.
Recently, I took a big step in that commitment and became VBAC certified through The VBAC Link.
You might be wondering—Why VBAC certification?
Well, I’ve had two VBACs of my own, and I’ve supported several clients through their VBAC journeys. I know the emotional layers that can come with planning a vaginal birth after a cesarean—the hope, the fear, the questions, and the deep desire to be heard and supported. I’ve walked that road both personally and professionally.
But even with that experience, I knew there was more I could learn. More evidence-based research. More tools to support informed decision-making. More ways to advocate clearly and lovingly for my clients in a variety of birth settings.
So I enrolled in The VBAC Link’s certification program. And I’m so glad I did.
This training gave me deeper insight into the statistics, myths, and realities of VBAC, as well as strategies for supporting women through the unique emotional and physical aspects of these births. I now feel more equipped than ever to walk alongside mamas navigating their birth after cesarean with confidence and clarity.
Whether you’re dreaming of your first VBAC or simply exploring your options, I want you to know: you’re not alone. You deserve support that is compassionate, informed, and free of judgment. I would be honored to walk that path with you.
Always learning. Always growing. Always here for you.
